Historic Building Research
What is the history of your home or place of work? Who lived there before you? If the walls could speak, what stories would they tell?
Claire has lots of experience researching buildings as well as people. Whether it be a pub, a factory or a home, Claire can use tithe maps, land registers, deeds and planning applications (such as the one pictured found in the Wiltshire and Swindon Archives) to show the story of your building and how it changed both in appearance and use through its lifetime. Using census records and Business Directories, Claire can introduce you to previous occupants and owners, who they were and how they shaped your historic building.
Examples of historic buildings Claire has written about:
'Thank you so much for such an indepth, well researched and absolutely fascinating account of the history of Hatt House. Your report has meant so much to my clients who have yet to move into their new home. Its really helped them make a connection to their new home. I can't recommend Claire more highly!'
